GW: Color Profiles?
Recently, as some of you may know, my CRT died and I got an LCD (NEC 1940CX). I've matched the colors to the point of perfection, but upon running Guild Wars fullscreen, everything messes up. The gamma is maxxed out and there is a blueish tint to everything. I've tinkered with the RGB sliders, but to no avail. Is there a driver or something to fix this? Because with my old CRT, Guild Wars never changed color profiles. I even calibrated my monitor several times with a Gretac Macbeth EyeOne calibrator. It does nothing to Guild Wars - it only perfects things that aren't fullscreen games.
Running in windowed makes it so the color profiles don't change, but when I play in windowed, I get lag spikes every 5 seconds or so.
So...can anyone tell me how to solve either, or both, of these problems? Many thanks. I'm still trying to get used to my LCD and I don't even try playing in Guild Wars with such messy colors.

this sounds like your running GW in a none native resolution for the TFT, usually 1024x768, 1280x1024, etc, I went from a 21" Samsung CRT to a (8ms) 19" WideScreen TFT and im Running it in 1440x900, GW Colours look no different compared to how they were on the CRT (maybe a little more defined, as the CRT was over 5 years old and dieing) I dont have any issues with GW or colour profiles, or gamma, (which in GW is on about 1/4 of the way up)
Maybe its your GFX Card (I know you can control the gamma and colour channels individually for "Fullscreen 3D Apps" etc, or desktop... maybe try thoes?
if not, it could be a fault on the monitor, have you tried hitting the "auto" button when you have GW on? etc.

My monitor's native resolution is 1280x1024, and I run both my desktop and Guild Wars in that. I will try the "auto" button, and continue tinkering with the RGB sliders Nvidia has.
UPDATE: No dice, unfortunately. If I set the RGB on Guild Wars right, it messes up my desktop.

try your FGX Card's advance settings,
set the RGB values right for one or the other, then change the RGB Values for either GW or the desktop in your GFX Cards advanced settings

I know how to change the values, but how to change it specifically for GW? There is a "Desktop" option, which affects my desktop, IE, and other windowed programs like that. "Overlay" is meant to affect video and fullscreen applications, but it seems that "Desktop" affects Guild Wars, whether fullscreen or windowed.

thats a driver problem then, not detecting "Full screen 3d apps"
maybe create 2 profiles? (one for GW one for others) and set them to a hotkey, load GW, press the hotkey combo, back to Desktop, same again..
just an idea...

Sounds like you'll have to run 2 profiles attached to a hot key or "launch" profile. Which i had todo when i ran an nvidia card. Just set the profile to respond on launch of gw. It wasn't just gw either both fear and oblivion did the same. The overlay option only affected things like movies played in windows media or quicktime and overlays in ie or firefox.

Alright. But is there a specific way to macro/program a profile to launch upon the execution of GW.exe, or need I use a hotkey every time? Because I have a tendency to alt+tab in and out of applications at times...

GW does have a gray/bluish tint in it after the last interface update. I think it's normal.

Hmm...does anyone else (preferably CRT users) notice a change in interface color?

I have 3 monitors (21" CRT, a 19" Widescreen (8ms) TFT, and a 17" (12ms) TFT, and GW looks (just about) The same on them all, the TFT's are much sharper and vibrant, and to be honest, I prefer the TFT's image to the CRT's
